About the role

  • Systems Engineering Team Lead at Babcock managing complex system design and delivery. Empowering a team of engineers while ensuring compliance and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of a talented team of engineers, driving the design, integration, and delivery of complex system solutions.
  • Own the definition and integrity of the system-level design, ensuring everything from requirements and risk management through to modelling and change control is expertly managed.
  • Keep projects moving, ensuring designs are compliant, traceable, and ready for certification.
  • Combine strong technical knowledge with natural leadership skills, empowering your team to perform at their best while maintaining a clear focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Bring a solid understanding of design, analysis, and integration techniques, along with experience managing governance frameworks and technical assurance in large, multi-stakeholder programs.
  • Mentor others, sharing knowledge, and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in engineering or hold the recognised engineering qualifications to be eligible to obtain Professional Engineer category Membership through a recognised body.
  • Membership of a relevant engineering body, preferably with chartered status.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in relatable technical / engineering roles.
  • A good understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
