About the role

  • Quality Assurance Engineer ensuring compliance for engineering in UK's submarines and warships. Role involves oversight and collaboration to meet safety and reliability standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the engineering, infrastructure and facilities supporting the maintenance of the UK’s submarines and warships are delivered to the highest standards of safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Grow capability in quality assurance, engineering oversight and stakeholder collaboration across multiple high-profile projects.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure quality planning, installation, commissioning and handover meet defined standards.
  • Support the development, review and implementation of Quality Management Plans and Inspection and Test Plans during project phases.
  • Oversee project and supply chain compliance with quality requirements, ensuring that deliverables meet regulatory and business expectations.
  • Ensure Life Time Quality Records provide assured evidence that plant, equipment and infrastructure meet design intent.
  • Support Senior Quality Assurance Engineers in delivering project lifecycle assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control techniques within an engineering environment, including working with supply chain partners.
  • Knowledge of change management, document management and quality governance, including awareness of improvement programmes.
  • Understanding of national, international, statutory and regulatory obligations relating to Quality Management.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders and contributing to engineering assurance activities.
  • Knowledge or experience of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements, with desirable qualifications or training in auditing, inspection, quality management, or defence/nuclear/infrastructure environments.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering or quality discipline.
  • Completed apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
  • Must be a sole UK National able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
