About the role

  • Digital Engineer driving innovation in defence engineering at Babcock. Supports major defence projects, influencing strategy, and managing CAD systems in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Influence team strategy and shape digital delivery
  • Support major defence projects that safeguard the UK’s future security
  • Configure and maintain CAD systems
  • Manage complex data across multiple disciplines
  • Ensure best practice in model management
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for software upgrades and new applications
  • Produce and maintain project and overarching function procedures

Requirements

  • Essential experience of the Digital Engineer
  • Mechanical design or engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault for 3D CAD model and data management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
  • BTEC National Diploma or higher in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Must be a sole UK national able to maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance
