About the role

Responsibilities
- Analyze security vulnerabilities to determine impact to our systems, and work with development teams to prioritize addressing known issues
- Educate development teams on best practices regarding application security
- Monitor our applications for new vulnerabilities as they are discovered
- Communicate status and progress of our application security posture to management
- Consult with developers, architects, project leaders, and management to resolve problems and suggest alternatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience is required
- Past employment experience on one or more application development teams is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Java and RESTful services is strongly preferred
- Experience with or willingness to learn Splunk strongly preferred
- Experience with a modern IDE is strongly preferred
- Experience with current security tools is preferred
- Familiarity with OWASP and CVEs is preferred
- Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges
- Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and software development techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the IT Division.
