About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high performing engineering team responsible for building the backend systems powering onsite customer growth products
  • Set the technical vision and roadmap for backend services, APIs, and data driven systems that power personalized onsite experiences at scale
  • Partner closely with AI, data, and product teams to develop intelligent capabilities that improve performance and user experience
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of the systems that support customer growth and real time user interactions
  • Drive best practices in design discussions, code reviews, architecture decision making, and operational excellence
  • Foster a learning oriented team culture that encourages collaboration, curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Own delivery of key product initiatives, balancing long term platform investments with near term business objectives
  • Promote clean, maintainable, well tested code and high engineering standards across the team

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of professional backend software engineering experience, including at least two years managing or leading engineers
  • Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, or Typescript
  • Experience designing and operating distributed systems, APIs, and microservice architectures at scale
  • Hands on familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of databases, messaging systems, or streaming technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or Kafka
  • Track record of building reliable, scalable, high throughput systems that support customer facing products
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop engineers, drive team alignment, and create an inclusive, collaborative engineering environment
  • Strong communication and cross functional partnership skills, with the ability to work effectively with AI, data, product, and design teams
  • A mindset rooted in ownership, curiosity, and a passion for building meaningful systems that drive measurable customer impact
