- Traffic and Transportation Engineering Intern assisting with conducting traffic studies and preparing plans for transportation projects. Collaborating with project managers and senior engineers in Seattle, WA.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting traffic studies and identifying operational and safety needs
- Prepare plans and corridor planning
- Work alongside project managers and senior engineers to gain understanding of the transportation industry
- Conduct safety and operational analysis for intersections and corridors
- Utilize big data sources to identify safety and operational needs
- Provide program support functions for large engineering programs across the Southeast
- Perform CAD assignments and develop traffic simulation models using Synchro, VISSIM, and Sidra
- Research engineering standards, traffic operation, simulation, and safety
- Collaborate with other disciplines for successful project delivery
Requirements
- Seeking a degree in civil or transportation engineering
- Prior internship experience in engineering consulting or DOT
- Experience/ familiarity with CAD, Synchro, VISSIM &/or Sidra
