Responsibilities
Providing advice and support at all stages during the review, negotiation, and management of contracts from initiation to closure;
Applying Arcadis risk standards to potential contracts or updates to existing contracts to identify risk issues, categorize their impact, propose alternative language aligned with Arcadis’ desired risk profile, and perform contract revisions/drafting or negotiation, along with commercial mitigation measures, as applicable;
Working closely and proactively with Arcadis North America legal teams and Regional Operations Directors to monitor and provide legal support to project contracts (with a focus on legal/contractual and performance risks);
Proactively contributing to and providing best practices in areas of responsibility (e.g., contract management leadership, risk identification and mitigation, recognizing matters requiring elevated legal review) to the Arcadis business;
Providing sound and insightful advice to the Arcadis North America business on a variety of matters such as contract negotiation, risks associated with scopes of work/services, and providing training to relevant personnel on same;
Promoting and upskilling relevant Arcadis personnel in identification and mitigation of legal and commercial risks, negotiation skills, and similar contract management tools;
Working effectively with Arcadis enabling functions and operations leadership to ensure consistency in contract management processes and awareness;
Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time
Requirements
A member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
At least three (3) years of relevant work experience, in commercial contracts management (international exposure an advantage), ideally in both a reputable law firm and as an in-house lawyer.
Contract and performance/risk management experience in all general aspects of environmental consulting or civil engineering; experience in Mobility, Places, Resilience, Integrated Management Systems (IMS), and related engineering disciplines an advantage, construction industry experience also valued.
Knowledge of US and Canadian laws an advantage, but not required.
