About the role

  • Design Engineer responsible for Track Alignment designs and project delivery in Rail projects at Arcadis. Working with global teams to ensure quality and compliance in design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and adheres to Regulations, codes and standards required for project delivery.
  • Understands and adheres to quality standards required for project delivery, based on project specific and Company specific Quality management plan.
  • Developing Track Alignment designs which includes, switch and crossover design, Platform design, track componentry design, regression analysis, stressing, track bed design, gauging analysis, interfacing with other disciplines.
  • Drafts design calculations, models, drawings, and reports.
  • Creates templates and checklists required for design works.
  • Creating Corridors, Cross Sections as per clients’ requirement.
  • Create track models/drawings using software’s like AutoCAD/MicroStation/ Power rail track/OpenRail designer/ Civil 3D/ProVi or any similar software.
  • Document and Deliver project documents in CDE environment in compliance to BIM standards.
  • Assists Sr. Design Engineers or Principal Engineer in delivering Project tasks.
  • Coordination with lead engineers.
  • Support Graduate Engineers for on job training about the project requirement quality standards.
  • Any other assignments by the mentor / Sr. Design Engineer / Principal Design Engineer

Requirements

  • Should have good foundation of basic fundamental principles of track geometry designs under various circumstances.
  • Should have experience of working in Track Alignment Design in Rail Projects minimum 2 years.
  • Should have worked in Indian and international projects, preferably both brownfield and greenfield conditions.
  • Should have experience of working in any of the environment: Civil 3D, Bentley Power Rail Track / Open rail Designer or similar software.
  • Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills in conjunction with innovative thinking.
  • Should have knowledge of applicable industry code standards.
  • Should have experience in the analysis and documentation of railway engineering works and processes from concept to advanced design stages.
  • Having experience in creating alignment by regression will be a value addition.
