About the role
- Structural Engineer designing and analyzing steel connections to enhance project delivery at Apex Structural Engineering. Collaborating on structural design and ensuring timely execution of engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
- Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects
- Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering
- Calculation development and steel shop drawing reviews
- Submittal preparation and RFI development
- New calculation development to enhance efficiencies
- Utilize analysis software programs such as Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect and Revit
- Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design and shop drawing reviews
- Maintain oversight of project schedules and resource planning
- Collaborate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and erectors for timely delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
- Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus
- PE certification
- 3+ years of structural engineering experience
- Advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards
- Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Software skills with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit are a plus
- Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
- Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge in steel construction
