About the role

  • Structural Engineer designing and analyzing steel connections to enhance project delivery at Apex Structural Engineering. Collaborating on structural design and ensuring timely execution of engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects
  • Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering
  • Calculation development and steel shop drawing reviews
  • Submittal preparation and RFI development
  • New calculation development to enhance efficiencies
  • Utilize analysis software programs such as Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect and Revit
  • Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design and shop drawing reviews
  • Maintain oversight of project schedules and resource planning
  • Collaborate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and erectors for timely delivery

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus
  • PE certification
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards
  • Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Software skills with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit are a plus
  • Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge in steel construction
