Production Planning Engineer responsible for creating daily and weekly production plans for reliable water delivery at Anglian Water. Collaborating with teams to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Produce accurate and actionable production plans across daily, weekly and monthly timescales
Work closely with long-term planners to align short- and long‑term operational needs
Collaborate with operational teams to communicate plans and respond to changes
Use production planning tools and data to identify issues, trends and improvement opportunities
Investigate deviations from the plan and support root cause analysis and mitigation
Contribute to continuous improvement of planning tools, processes and data quality
Support incident response by providing insight and guidance from production plans
Consider maintenance and planned works to minimise operational impact
Build strong stakeholder relationships across Water Services, Tactical Operations and wider teams
Requirements
Previous experience in an operational role with decision‑making responsibilities
Strong understanding of water treatment and distribution processes
Working knowledge of hydraulic principles
Confident user of complex software and modelling tools
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate effectively as part of a team
Relevant professional qualification (desirable)
