About the role

  • Manager of Tax Strategy at American Tower’s Global Tax Strategy team overseeing cash taxes and tax strategy opportunities. Collaborating cross-functionally in a hybrid role based in Boston.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the tax implications of global legislative changes and emerging policy initiatives, advising on potential organizational impacts.
  • Identify, develop, and execute global tax planning strategies to optimize cash taxes and support business objectives.
  • Monitor global tax audits, manage inquiries from foreign tax authorities, and help drive resolution strategies.
  • Provide tax structuring insights for internal reorganizations and intercompany funding activities, partnering closely with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of global transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with local and international requirements.
  • Assess potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing key tax considerations and risks.
  • Support the annual global cash tax forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with broader financial planning.
  • Support quarterly real estate investment trust compliance and testing requirements.
  • Conduct in depth tax research using resources such as BNA Tax Management Portfolios.
  • Perform additional related responsibilities to support the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in either law or accounting.
  • Post-graduate degree in either Tax or Law.
  • 4 - 6 years' experience in a corporate tax department, law firm, or public accounting firm preferred.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience required.
  • Strong organization, planning, communication and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for yourself and a team to meet requirements and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated; able to work both independently and within a group.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Excellent strategic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent tax legal research and analysis skills.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate a team to achieve results.
  • Approximately 5% of travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.
