About the role
- Product Development Engineer responsible for capsules product development for Wine & Spirits. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to drive product innovation and customer technical support.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for capsule product development and customer technical support for packaging in Wines & Spirits (closures, overcaps, etc.)
- Lead New Product Development projects from concept to launch (customer implementation), including designing technical solutions, sampling and product qualifications, industrialization, managing project costs and trial cost budgets, in coordination with the cross-functional team and plants.
- Lead improvement and maintenance projects for existing products in coordination with Procurement, Marketing, Sales and AF plants.
- Provide technical support to customers in coordination with FTS, Sales, Marketing and AF plants.
- Work closely with raw material suppliers and packaging machine manufacturers to minimize product costs and maximize product efficiency on customer lines.
- Participate in R&D stage gate reviews with Amcor Capsules key stakeholders to review project status.
Requirements
- University degree in a related science, engineering or technical discipline (mechanical engineering or packaging engineering preferred)
- Fluent in French and English; additional European languages are a plus
- Familiarity with project management processes and tools
- Technical knowledge of beverage materials, bottle closure solutions and converting processes such as deep drawing, printing and assembly, as well as bottling line processes (filling, closing, labelling, etc.)
- SolidWorks CAD design experience
- Project management experience in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
- Effective and adaptable communication skills
