About the role

  • Injection Tooling Engineer at Amcor responsible for optimizing molds and tooling design. Collaborating with plants to improve production efficiency and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures
  • Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity
  • Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment
  • Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in associated training
  • Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions
  • Respond to non-established procedures if they should arise
  • Provide input to Product Development regarding mold or tooling design and sign-off on final design
  • Work with all plants on tooling issues
  • Work with the plants on installation and start-up of all new molds or tooling
  • Optimize the performance of all molds or tooling within area of discipline
  • Work with plant operations to provide input on continuous improvement of the tooling department
  • Track mold or tooling prices for all projects to assure we are getting the best value
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years field experience in Engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches
  • Speak, write, and read effectively in English
  • Computer literate
  • Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
