About the role
- Accident Benefits Claims Adjuster supporting members in Calgary or Edmonton through claims negotiations and settlements. Investigating claims with a balance of compassion and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, negotiate, and settle accident benefits claims in a fair and timely manner
- Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
- Communicate proactively with members to provide updates, guidance, and resolution support
- Maintain accurate claim records, reserves, and settlements within appropriate policy coverage
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve fair outcomes and cost-effective resolutions
- Contribute to a positive member experience through professionalism, empathy, and responsiveness
Requirements
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in a related field an asset)
- CIP or CAIB designation (or working toward one)
- Experience in accident benefits, automobile, or multi-line claims adjusting
- General knowledge of insurance principles, legal concepts, and the SPF #1 Automobile Policy
- Working knowledge of medical terminology related to common MVA injuries (e.g., WAD)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills
