Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist applying psychological principles and therapies in a community clinic setting. Integral part of a multidisciplinary team focused on providing quality mental health services.
Responsibilities
Applies psychological/counseling principles in assessment, clinical interventions, research, training, case management, consultation, supervises non-licensed staff, and program development.
Involved in integrating behavioral health services into a primary care setting.
Responsibilities include diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning.
Provides a variety of interventions such as individual, group, child, and family therapy.
Focus on short-term problem-solving therapy, short-term cognitive behavioral therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, coping skills, substance abuse treatment, behavior modification, case consultations, and other evidence-based practice techniques.
Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including medical providers, nursing staff, medical support staff, case managers, administrators, managers, and directors.
Attends various conferences/workshops concerning mental health treatment, and may be involved in several research studies or multidisciplinary projects.
Requirements
Professional Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the California Behavioral Science Board
Master's level degree required
Minimum 1 year of experience working with children
Minimum one year of clinical experience for LCSW
A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Bilingual English/Spanish or English and other predominant language of the population served preferred.
