- A Manual QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of software applications through systematic testing.
- Creating and executing test cases, identifying defects, collaborating with development teams, and validating that product requirements are met before release.
- Analyze product requirements, user stories, and specifications.
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Identify test conditions, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Execute manual functional, regression, UI/UX, integration, smoke, and exploratory tests.
- Validate frontend, backend, APIs, and workflows depending on the product.
- Log detailed, reproducible defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps.
- Document test results and provide daily/weekly QA reports.
- Track testing progress, coverage, and quality metrics.
- Follow and improve QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in manual software testing.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC.
- Experience with issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
- Ability to write clear, detailed test cases and bug reports.
- Understanding of API testing using tools like Postman.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Basic understanding of SQL for backend data validation (preferred).
- Familiarity with test management tools (TestRail, Xray) (preferred).
- Knowledge of usability testing and accessibility testing (preferred).
- Exposure to automation tools (an advantage but not required) (preferred).
- Experience in mobile testing (iOS/Android) (preferred).
