About the role
- Cloud Systems Engineer overseeing enterprise cloud infrastructure operations for federal mission delivery. Supporting client engagements with a focus on stability and sustainability in cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Drives the stability and sustainability of the cloud-based networks, software systems for scaling and reliable operations
- Performs system integration, verification and validation and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Creates proactive engineering mechanisms that will enable the team to manage the health of a number of distributed VMs
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies for hardware and software specifications
- Utilizes trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools and processes
- Responsible for systems functionality, performance, and configurations issues
- Engineer and maintain scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure to meet performance and availability objectives.
- Create monitoring/alerting and operational runbooks to improve system health and response time.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 15+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.
- Certifications: IAT-2, 1 or more cloud certifications.
- Able to obtain a minimum of a Secret security clearance; active Secret preferred.
- Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering / documentation practices.
