Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, distributed microservices from the ground up
- Own critical components end-to-end, from architecture to production
- Write clean, efficient, production-grade code with a strong focus on performance
- Tackle hard problems in concurrency, data processing, and system reliability
- Push the system to its limits and redesign it when it breaks
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering to deliver impactful features
- Continuously raise the engineering bar through code and design reviews
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience
- Strong expertise in Java (Spring / Spring Boot)
- Strong advantage for experience with Python and/or Node.js
- Experience working in the communication networks field - big advantage
- Proven experience building high-scale, distributed systems
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
- Strong experience working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
- Advantage: Data Science Background (work/school)
- Experience with Kafka, Redis, ActiveMQ, or similar systems
- Background in data-intensive systems, streaming, or real-time processing
- Experience with Apache Flink, Spark, or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with Machine Learning systems or pipelines
