Responsibilities
Lead rigorous analyses of unique linked datasets to uncover how homelessness shapes health and mortality.
Collaborate with an authentic, multidisciplinary team passionate about improving outcomes and preventing homelessness for young people.
Design, fit and interpret complex statistical models to address priority research questions on homelessness, health and mortality.
Manage, clean and analyse large-scale linked administrative health and homelessness datasets using Stata, R or similar tools.
Contribute to high-quality peer-reviewed manuscripts, policy briefs and knowledge translation outputs for diverse audiences.
Contribute methodological expertise to competitive grant applications and new research proposals within the adolescent health program.
Engage actively in seminars, meetings and collaborations across Melbourne Children’s Campus, strengthening networks and research capacity.
Requirements
Hold a Masters or PhD in biostatistics, statistics or a closely related quantitative health discipline.
Bring substantial experience managing and analysing complex linked administrative datasets, including MBS, PBS and hospital data.
Use Stata, R or similar software confidently to implement advanced statistical models for longitudinal and cohort studies.
Demonstrate a strong, genuine interest in adolescent health, homelessness and preventing poor outcomes for young people.
Maintain a growing track record of peer-reviewed publications, clear research writing and research translation for non-academic stakeholders.
Contribute effectively to collaborative teams, grant development, presentations and stakeholder engagement through strong written and verbal communication.
