About the role
- Senior Cloud Engineer designing and implementing cloud solutions for BMO utilizing AWS services. Collaborating with teams to enhance the cloud platform and adhere to security standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement BMO Cloud Platform, core and shared services
- Drive holistic design & patterns for secure cloud application environments
- Assist in cloud migration & transformation strategy and infrastructure roadmaps
- Develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability and security
- Ensure all cloud solutions follow security and compliance standards
- Design and plan enterprise-scale cloud environments
- Design, implement and secure cloud IaaS, PaaS and higher services in AWS
- Maintain architectural templates and operational documentation
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps and CIO teams to develop Service Catalogues
- Continuously enhance the capability, security and experience of the enterprise cloud
Requirements
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services
- Understanding of cloud design patterns, Cloud Native principles, cloud operations and cloud security models
- Strong programming skills and fluency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Proven experience in setting up, securing and managing public cloud infrastructure
- Knowledge of cloud provisioning, administration, interoperability, disaster recovery, performance measurement.
- Proficiency in cloud automation using AWS CLI, Azure CLI, CDK, CloudFormation, ARM or terraform
- Hands-on experience with system configuration and DevOps tools such as Ansible, Bitbucket, Git, Jira, or Confluence
- Experience on Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), AWS Fargate, Elastic Container Service (ECS)
- Familiarity with Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis Data Stream, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB
- Experience with AI concepts, GenAI, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
