About the role
- Senior EU Regulatory Advisor monitoring and influencing EU policy developments for Ørsted. Engaging with institutions and developing advocacy strategies for a greener future.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyse, and anticipate EU legislative and policy developments relevant to offshore wind, including renewable energy, grids, industrial and trade policy and state aid
- Shape and implement EU regulatory and public affairs strategies that align with development pipeline and operating assets
- Engage proactively with EU institutions and relevant agencies to inform implications and influence outcomes
- Represent Ørsted in industry associations, alliances, and stakeholder platforms, such as WindEurope and Eurelectric
- Develop and deliver advocacy positions, policy papers, briefings, and consultation responses
- Advise internal teams on EU regulatory risks, opportunities and market design topics, ensuring alignment across EU and Member State advocacy
Requirements
- Strong experience working with EU policy making, preferably within the energy sector
- Demonstrates strong understanding of EU energy and climate policy frameworks, such as Fit for 55, TEN E, Clean Industrial Deal, Electricity Market Design and industrial and trade policy and state aid
- Experience engaging directly with or in EU institutions, committees, or legislative processes
- Knowledge of EU policy or legislation, ideally from Brussels-based roles
- Insight into industry associations and coalitions, and how they shape regulatory outcomes
- Communicate complex regulatory matters clearly and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Business-fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage
