Vice President/Director leading macro and rates strategy research for North Asia. Engaging with clients in Greater China and collaborating with cross-functional teams globally.
Responsibilities
Produce high‑quality macro and rates strategy research covering North Asia, with emphasis on policy developments, yield curve dynamics, and cross‑market implications.
Develop interest rate forecasts, scenario frameworks, and trade recommendations, utilizing rigorous economic and quantitative analysis.
Publish timely research across rates, bonds (government, policy bank, and local), swaps, and futures markets, aligned with Global Research standards.
Support cross‑asset and cross‑country thematic projects, collaborating closely with FX, Credit, Equity, and Global Macro teams across regions.
Contribute to daily, weekly, and ad‑hoc publications that inform clients and internal stakeholders on regional market developments.
Engage actively with institutional clients across Greater China and Asia Pacific, delivering insightful and actionable views.
Partner with Global Markets teams to ensure research is aligned with client needs, internal compliance requirements, and the firm’s risk framework.
Represent Bank of America’s research franchise through client meetings, roadshows, webinars, and conferences.
Requirements
Strong academic qualifications in Economics, Finance, Quantitative disciplines, or related fields; postgraduate degree preferred.
6-10 years of experience in FX/Rates Strategy, Macro Research, or related roles within financial markets.
Proficiency in econometric modelling, time‑series analysis, and macroeconomic forecasting, with demonstrated application to FX or rates markets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing concise, commercial, and high‑impact research.
Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, including experience working with large datasets.
Practical coding proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB; experience with data visualization tools is advantageous.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment, managing multiple deliverables while meeting tight deadlines.
Fluency in English, with strong spoken and written Mandarin skills considered advantageous.
Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a global research team.
